Thank you for this information. I seem to have heard a lot about how the Police, Southwark council and Mayor Boris have been tackling the issue of youth violence. They even try and tell us residents that it is decreasing but all along it has been increasing and in my borough Southwark, the worst for youth violence in London it has increased by a fifth. We have constant white noise telling us they are doing something but it keeps getting worse and worse. They keep spending money on so called community safety and policing but it all seems a complete waste.
Can we please get some people in who can finally make a difference, it has been almost 7 years since youth violence became a priority for Southwark but every year its worse!!!
Millions spent, lots of publicity, thousands of police hours. But youth violence still increasing.
The theories and approaches taken so far are obviously flawed. The one good thing is the level of gun crime has dropped like a stone.
